••• As Council implore CDAs to Get Approval Before Mounting Speed Breakers on Roads
completes Moshalasi Bus Stop, Ifelodun junction down to Olokode, as work continues
It will be recalled that a few weeks ago, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID), Ojokoro Council Chairman commenced intervention project on Nureni Yusuf Road and as of the time of report, Mosalashi Bus Stop, Ifelodun Junction down to Olokode and its environs have reached completion stage. As other part of the almost 900 meter road is still being worked upon by the council chief.
The council boss has urged commuters, residents and road users to cooperate with the government as the rehabilitation work continues.
However, work is also going on again at Akibu Adeniji Street and this will be the second time palliative measures done on the road since the administration took over in 2017.
The council Engineer, Architect Sunday Makinde has said speed breakers were illegally constructed on the road as they are one of the reasons for the present calamity befalling the road, as it hinders free flow of water on the main carriage way to the drainage.
“These speed breakers prevent the free flow of water from the road and they are not good for our road. In places where such is needed, the community must get approval from the council and we will make our recommendation and possibly supervise as well”, Arch. Sunday Makinde said.
Meanwhile work has continued on the road and it said to be given speedy completion.
