The Lagos State Government, on Monday, reiterated its commitment to continually create access to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their products and services to the public.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Mrs. Adetutu Ososanya, made this known while receiving a visiting team from the Nigeria Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI), Lagos Chapter, who were on a courtesy visit to her office in Alausa, Ikeja, adding that the contributions of MSME’s are traceable to the increase in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employment generation and wealth creation in the State.
While commending the Association’s efforts to provide platforms for entrepreneurs to get the necessary valuable traction essential for business development, Ososanya assured the team of the Ministry’s support towards its proposed fair in May 2022.
Speaking on the purpose of the Association’s visit, Chairman NASSI, Lagos State Chapter, Mrs. Gertrude Akhime, said the team intends to seek an enhanced collaboration between the Ministry and the Association towards the development of MSMEs in the State.
She averred that the association plans to hold its annual Lagos NASSI (MSME’S) Tradefair with the theme: “The Indispensable Role of MSMEs in the Quest for Nigeria’s Industrialisation”, from 9th to 13th May 2022 at the Digital Bridge Institute NITEL Training School, Ilupeju, Lagos,
The Chairman, therefore, solicited the State Government’s support for the successful hosting of the programme through effective traffic management, security personnel and publicity for the event.
