A member of Lagos state house of assembly, representing Ifako-ijaiye constituency 02, Hon. Rasheed Makinde, on Monday, 4th of January hosted the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ojokoro chapter, APC ward Excos and Ojokoro Formidable Team members for a prayer session at his resident in Abule Egba.
The prayer session, which was tagged; ‘Keeping Faith in thy Lord’ sermon was delivered by Pastor C. G. Coker, chairman CAN, Ojokoro.
He said, “faith in thy Lord can make impossibility, to be possible.”
While picking his own lesson to the body of Christ and all brethren seated, Hon. Makinde read a Bible passage from the book of Matthew 6 vs. 31-32.
Which reads _”³¹ so do not worry, saying, what shall we eat or what shall we drink, or what shall we wear, ³² For the pagans run after all these things, and heavenly Father knows that you need them” Amen._
Speaking further, Hon. Makinde appreciates everyone present at the prayer session, thanked the body of CAN in Ojokoro LCDA for their continuous support, and urged them to continue to imbibe the spirit of oneness.
“Though I am a Muslim, but I so much appreciate everything about CAN, I am really proud of them”.
He requested the body of Christ, CAN, for a special prayer for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa for more strength and divine protection for the task ahead.
The honourable member said that the Yorubas race have been at the receiving ends of betrayal. “We don’t know the importance of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, it has happened twice, already we are made to sacrifice Late Obafemi Awolowo and Late Moshood Kashimawo Abiola through betrayal by the Yorubas.”
He urged the Yorubas not to make the same mistakes made in the past, as he called for sincere support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2023 presidential ambition.
As requested by Hon. Makinde, a special prayer was offered for the national leader of All Progressive Congress and 2023 presidential hopeful, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, speaker of Lagos state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa, the leadership of Ojokoro LCDA APC and all residents of Ifako-ijaiye constituency 02.
The chairman of CAN, Ojokoro LCDA Chapter, Pastor C.G. Coker was also honoured with an award of exceptional leadership in recognition of his continuous contributions to the society and Hon. Rasheed Lanre Makinde Team. The award was prepared by Makinde Prayer Vanguard headed by Mrs. Sarah Ayedun, while the lawmaker also prepared an appreciation letter to the entire members of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ojokoro LCDA Chapter wishing them a prosperous year 2021.
CAN, Ojokoro Chapter 2021 calendar was presented to Hon. Makinde, and Ojokoro Formidable Team 2021 Almanac too was given to the Christian body in return.
