About 106 registered Community Development Associations, CDA, in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area has received the food package procured by the executive chairman Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani, HID.
Handing over the already package food stuff which is aimed at reducing the hardship people are going through while obeying the stay at home order of the presidency. The Executive Chairman Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Hammed Idowu Tijani (HID) urged all stakeholders involved to ensure prompt delivery to the vulnerable people of the council.
This according to HID is to complement the effort of the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwolu in fight against the dreadful Covid-19 coronavirus as they continue to observe the fourteen days stay at home order of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He explained to the member of the press that “the beneficiary are majorly the most vulnerable ones that is, those that cannot afford to buy this items on their own and the means of distribution is through the 106 registered CDAs of our council, the traditional rulers, religious leaders because they are more closer to the people and here at the council secretariat we want to maintain social distance”
HID stressed that “the councilors will just follow each CDA chairman to go give those in need of it that is the means of distribution”
While asking the measure he has put in place to contain the further spread of the pandemic CORONA VIRUS he answered “to contain this covid-19 a lot of campaign is going on radio and so many vehicles has been branded and aside from this we have sensitize our people on what to do if they noticed anyone with any symptoms, and in the area of personal hygiene by watching their hands regularly to avoid further spread of the virus”
The council boss also reiterated that “the gestured is purely a community affairs and that’s why we are going through the channel earlier mentioned because they are the electorate and not party affairs” he said.
According to the majority leader Ojokoro LCDA Femi Oke “the initiative is a laudable one, he stressed that his ‘ward’ portion will be delivered to the people via the CDA as instructed by the chairman”.
Another councilor speaking at the sideline, Taiwo Adeyoola, Ward F, said, the gesture will go a long way.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ojokoro chapter Pastor Gbenga Coker who also stand to receive the relief package on behalf of his member appreciate the kind gesture of the chairman.
His is own remark President League of Imams and Alfas, Imam Ambali Lawal Arikewuyo said people are not finding the lock down easy, as he said the gesture of the chairman at least will give succor and hope to the heart of the people of the council. While he expressed his profound gratitude to the chairman as he gladly received the relief materials for his people.
