… Says he cannot afford to see his people suffer
The chairman Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID) has announced stimulus package for the people of his council. Speaking he acknowledged the fact that people are going through hard time caused by the covid-19 pandemic. He said as a responsible government he cannot afford to see his people suffer.
Announcing the relief packages prepared for the people of his domain, on Wednesday during an interview session on Grajos 89.3fm, the chairman said he will ensured the less privileged with the communities are the major beneficiaries.
Speaking further, HID said that he will engaged the joint CDAs chairman of the seven wards that form the council to assist the ward councilors to run the sharing. He said the package distribution will be flagged off on Friday 3rd April 2020 at the council secretariat for the benefit of the vulnerable people within the council.
HID said that the effort of the executive governor of Lagos State, Mr. Governor Babajide Sanwoolu on the pandemic cannot be overemphasized. Noting that the isolation centers built by the state are in the best interest of the nation and to provide prompt medical health care to Lagosians who may be infected. He again congratulated the governor for the success recorded so far on the covid-19 cases.
The council boss further said that the Coronavirus relief package is another means of cushioning the effects of the national lock down.
The Community Development Committee, religious bodies and councilors of every ward will take the delivery of the Coronavirus relief package on behalf of their groups and members. They will in turn go and share with their various group members at their various units.
HID Tijani said considerations will be given to resident members who do not fall into any of the above-mentioned categories. None members of the CDC, CDA, Religious bodies are expected to be at the council for their own direct collection while others will get theirs through the various groups mentioned.
He further called on the lowest of the class who cannot afford to buy food items at this time to visit the council on Friday 3 April 2020.
