The Lawmaker representing Ifako-Ijaiye II constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Rasheed Makinde has urged residents of Ifako-Ijaiye II constituency Ojokoro Local Council Development Area to obey all directives of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu Governor of Lagos State, has he said Mr. Governor has been losing sleep in his quest to ensure Lagosians are safe. He said it is very unusual for a State Governor to address its residents four times within 7-days it shows the government is serious on saving lives and properties of it citizenry.
“All acts or directives of the Governor and the government of Lagos State is part of measures being taken to curtail the spread of Coronavirus pandemic”. Makinde said.
In a press release signed by his Media and Publicity Aide, Mr. Tunde Rufai, Hon. Rasheed Makinde urged automobile and spare-parts dealers to obey the directives, as he said that is the only major market that does not deals in foods and drugs within his constituency.
“I want to appeal to all marketers and mechanical engineers in our market Orisumibare Automobile and Spare Part Market, Jankara to please obey the state government directive as it is just for a short period of time. Coronavirus is real, social distancing and proper hygiene has been adopted globally has solution to forestall its spread. Although no case has been recorded in our constituency, hence, we must be proactive in making sure we sensitize our people and follow government directives.”
Speaking further, the Lagos lawmaker said, he had successfully sensitize his constituents on the measures put in place by the Lagos State Government, World Health Organization, WHO, and National Centre for Disease Control,NCDC, as well as provide awareness campaign banners at strategic location within his constituency.
He said, in coming days he will be donating relief materials to homes and public places as part of his contributions to assist the executive arm of government in curtailing the spread of Covid-19.
“We have concluded plans to train 20 people in production of hand sanitizers as it will come in batches, we will train 5 people at a time as part of measures to maintain social distancing and we have procured materials that can produce 2000 (two thousand) pieces of 100ml customized hand sanitizers which will be distributed to every homes, hospitals, markets, Okada and Maruwa parks and police stations within Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 02 Ojokoro LCDA for Free.” Makinde said.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker has urged constituents to call this toll free number 080097000010 in sight of any person(s) suspected to be showing the symptoms of Covid-19 such as coughing, sneezing, fever, high temperature and so on.
He urged residents of Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 02 Ojokoro LCDA not to panic nor entertain any fear and to maintain proper hygiene, wash their hands regularly and thoroughly, use hand sanitizer at all time and ensure people around them are not harbouring person exhibiting symptoms of the pandemic Covid-19.
