The federal ministry of labour and employment is set to review the existing labour law.
This was made know through a communique issued and sign by the permanent sectary to the ministry Mr William Alo.
According to the communique, the ministry of labour and employment in collaboration with its social partners, international labour organization (ILO) and other stakeholders has commenced the process of reviewing labour legislation.
The ministry however, called for memoranda from interested members of the public civil society organization, professional bodies and relevant stakeholders in other to facilitate and enrich the process of the review for onward transmission to the National Assembly for consideration and enactment.
This is coming after a while on the assumption of office by the new minister of state for labour and employment Festus Keyamo.
Among the proposed review law include, labour Act 2004 trade union Act Cap 2004 trade dispute Act Cap T8 and T9 LFN 2004, the factories Act CAP F1 LFN 2004 and the Nigeria social insurance trust fund (NSITF) Act 2010 to be amended.
