
Olaniyi Street
After several months of public outcry, the Lagos State Public Works Corporation, LSPWC, men has commenced base work on Olaniyi street, Abule Egba.
The street which was adjudged the longest street on google map in Lagos State has been in a state of disrepair for a long time.
Motorists plying the roads can now have relieve in sight as the men of the corporation were seen working to create succour.
In a swift reaction by the lawmaker representing the constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Rasheed Makinde, a press release signed by his Media and Publicity Assistant, Hon. Makinde laud the rescue mission by the state public works as he said the road repairs is long overdue. He said that the road was constructed during the first tenure of Mr. Babatunde Fashola and it has helped to solve the annual perennial flooding always witnessed by resident of the area. He then urged the men of public works corporation to help block the various potholes within the constituency, stating Jibowu Road, Former Agbado Ijaiye now Bola Tinubu Road, by Sege Bus Stop, NEPA office, Jankara Market stretch to Adetola Bus stop by the boundary of Lagos and Ogun.
He also said, Nurein Yusuf Drive had the same issues like Olaniyi street as he said it is the commercial nerve centre of the constituency, with the second largest perishable goods and commodities market.
“I want to implore all motorists to join hands with the men of public works to ensure a speedy completion of the repairs being embarked upon. Government is working for everyone progress we must join hands to make Lagos safe for all.” Hon. Makinde said.
